Aligning with Grace

"We clasp the hands of those who go before us." ~ Wendell Berry I am somewhat jolted out of my dream state, that is both vivid and lucid - having been visited by two wise beings that have passed on - one over a half century ago and a relative, and the other, a nun I worked with, thirty-some years ago. I feel their presence - their eyes fixed upon me. It all seems so real, and then I am awake. In response I am moved to make a special post on social media: "Today, let us create a circle of healing energy. Receive if needed, Put some into the circle - If you can give. Let's Light up the world!" I sit quietly in church, reflecting on my dream, receiving many insights about my visitation at this moment in time, and am moved profoundly. Every now and then, we have days that are magical... We have days overflowing with love, and grace, and gratitude, and connection... We have days that are filled to the brim! I had one of those days, yesterday... It began the previous evening, as I meditated and prayed in bed for so many who had made requests. And as I did so, I was overwhelmed with compassion and love - with bliss and peace - and light in even in the dark of night. I knew that somehow, all would be well. The next day I awoke overflowing with the same feelings, and I quickly began my day filled with errands of all sorts. After my first stop, I realized I had begun my day without having taken the time to enjoy my morning cup of coffee, and almost immediately, I saw a slight man - trying to stay warm, opening up and organizing his coffee cart - on this brisk, nippy morning, that was barely out of the 30's! Who makes coffee in that kind of weather - outside? I approached him and asked him ...

Sometimes, we have an impact far greater than we can imagine... Most of our lives, we plant seeds and often do not have the opportunity to see or experience the fruits of our labor. We do not see the impact we have on our students, our children, our friends - and even on perfect strangers. But every once in a while someone comes to us and let's us know that we changed them, perhaps even profoundly. Yesterday, I heard from three people from my past. The funny thing is, the day didn't exactly start out very well. I was feeling kind of sorry for myself. But then, out of the blue, several souls intersected with mine and the impact of our connection years back was not only brought to mind, but I was also gifted with the ability to see how those connections had flourished in a positive way.
